Here is a rare 1996 Mercury Cougar XR7 "Night Cat" with only 40,000
miles since new. The "Night Cat" is powered by the 4.6 liter V8
with a 4 speed automatic behind it! A company called TopKing,
located in Kansas City, converted these XR-7 Cougars into "Night
Cats" The "Night Cat" had a full cloth top, gold badging, and Night
Cat embroidered onto headrests and rear passenger pillars (these
were covered with headliner material). While true production
numbers are unavailable, it is believed "thousands" were produced
between 1986 to 1998. However, these "Night Cat" Cougars are a rare
sight, almost 30 years later.
