Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present 1962
Ford Thunderbird. While Ford has checked all the boxes from
performance to practical vehicles in the past, the Thunderbird made
a name for itself as a great personal luxury vehicle. The 1962 year
model was widely regarded as the "bullet body car" & has an iconic
look that looks unmistakable to any classic out there on the road.
Finished from the factory in Rangoon Red over a a bright red
interior, this Bird grabs attention of everyone around. Under the
hood of this large bodied land yacht is a potent 390 cubic inch V8
which succeeded the 352 V8 found in earlier Thunderbird models. The
390 supplied a healthy 300 plus horsepower which was very ahead of
its era in terms of performance. The V8 is paired to a smooth
shifting automatic transmission making moving forward even more
luxurious at feel. The interior upholstery has matching red vinyl
seats, carpet, headliner, and dashboard. This car features power
steering, power brakes, power windows, power seats, and tilt wheel
with swing away shaft to allow people of all sizes to get in this
luxury legend. The Swing-Away steering wheel fronts instrumentation
consisting of a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant
temperature and fuel level. These Thunderbirds are starting to come
into their own in the market, so if a classic Thunderbird has ever
been on your bucket list, now is the time!
