Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is proud to present this 1978
Lincoln Continental Mark V. The Continental Mark V is a personal
luxury coupe that was marketed by the Lincoln division of Ford
Motor Company from the 1977 to 1979 model years in North America.
The fourth generation Mark series, the Mark V was derived from its
Continental Mark IV predecessor, bringing an extensive update to
the interior and exterior design. While only sold for three years,
the Mark V is the highest-selling generation of the Mark series. At
230 inches long, the Mark V is the largest two-door coupe ever sold
by Ford Motor Company. Powered by a strong 400 CID (6.6L) V/8,
matched to its 3-speed automatic transmission. These cars weren't
about performance. They were about a silent, cushy ride and plush
seats that swallowed you in velour comfort. The Medium Chamois
Metallic (2997) gold exterior is clean and in good condition. The
gold interior is very clean, luxurious, and comfortable. The car
rides nicely and would make a nice first collector car for someone,
or a nice stylish daily driver which still has most of the modern
creature comforts we've come to expect. The 1978 Mark V marked the
apex of Lincoln luxury and engineering, as subsequent cars became
victims of stricter federal requirements, badge engineering, and
shifting buying habits. The Options include: AM/FM Radio, a/c,
power; windows, locks, driver/passenger seats, antenna, cruise
control, rear defroster, aluminum wheels, white wall radial tires.
