Gateway Classic Cars of Fort Lauderdale is happy to present this
cool black w/ black top 1996 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT, with only
67,627 miles on the clock. The Cobra SVT is a special performance
model, with an aluminum double overhead-cam version of the base
4.6-liter V8, churning out a high-winding 305 horsepower. The Cobra
features an aluminum block, forged steel crankshaft, and unique
cylinder head castings with greater inlet port flow and 9.9-1
compression ratio. Six bolt mains help keep the bottom end in
place. Motor Trend noted 305 horsepower at 5800 rpms, and 300 ft.
lbs. with a 6000 RPM redline. 0-60 tests came in at 5.6 seconds
with a 14.2 1/4 mile- very respectable today, and in fact quicker
than many of the 1960's muscle cars. This Mustang Cobra still looks
very presentable. The tan leather seating areas are showing patina,
but its all there, waiting for the new owner to open it up and let
it sing. It is well equipped with many power options and air
conditioning, meaning it is not just a raw brute you are slugging
around. The convertible top feature just adds icing to the cake.
Special interest Mustangs from the 60's & 70's have gotten quite
expensive, as have the new ones. Here is a cool car that will not
break the bank- and because of the low miles on the clock, should
have quite a bit of life left in it. It would make a great daily
driver, and with some light restoration, a nice show worthy Mustang
you can be proud of.
