Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is excited to offer this rare
1968 Chevrolet Corvette L89 Convertible for sale on consignment
with our Arizona showroom, located in North Phoenix. The C3 body
style has become synonymous with the Corvette name, yet it was
considered bold in 1968 and was a forward-thinking departure from
the outgoing C2. The signature fiberglass body on this Corvette is
painted in a luscious "British Green" (also the original color of
this car, as represented by the seller) and it's hard not to fall
for the classic styling cues like the vacuum operated headlights,
wrap-around front and rear bumpers and functional louvers behind
the front wheels. What we are looking at here is no ordinary 1968
Corvette thanks to the "L71" 427 CID V8 rated at 435hp from the
factory that only featured on 10% of all 1968 Corvettes sold. To go
a step further, this 'Vette was also optioned with aluminum heads
(option "L89") which was only ordered on 624 of those L71
Corvettes. That's right, this Corvette for sale is straight out of
the big-block history books! Mated to the 4-speed close ratio
manual transmission and a posi-trac rear axle geared 4:11, this
classic American sports car is definitely all about performance.
Other notable options on this special '68 include a White
convertible top, AM/FM radio, power brakes, special suspension,
transistor ignition system, telescopic steering column, head
restraints and a tinted windshield. We have copies of the Corvette
order, original bill of sale and original tank sticker to share
that document this information. This 1968 Chevrolet Corvette L89
Convertible for sale is an appreciating asset and it's a fun
driver- what more could you want from a classic car?! Give our
helpful and knowledgeable Sales staff a call today at (623)
900-4884 for more information on this awesome Corvette.
