Gateway Classic Cars of Atlanta is proud to present this 1979
Chevrolet Corvette C3. The Corvette is as American as apple pie.
With over 60 years of production and eight design changes the
Corvette has withstood the test of time. In 1953 the first Corvette
rolled off the assembly line becoming the most popular sports car
in history. The excitement continues as the first mid-engine
Corvette rolled of the assembly line in 2020. 1979 was a big year
for the Corvette with almost 40,000 units sold. 1979 saw the
crossed-flag emblems on the nose and fuel door revert to those seen
on the '77 model. Three popular features introduced on the '78 pace
car replicas made it into this year's production: the new bucket
seats, the front and rear spoiler package, and the glass roof
panels. The new lightweight "high back" seats were made standard
equipment. The new seats had better side bolster, provided easier
access to the rear storage area, and the seat pair resulted in a
weight reduction of about 24 pounds. Tungsten-halogen high-beam
headlights became standard as did an AM-FM radio, and for the first
time a cassette tape player could be added as a $234 option.
Powering this 1979 Chevrolet Corvette is a L-82 350 cubic inch V8
backed by a automatic transmission. Options on this 1979 Chevrolet
Corvette C3 include: Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio, Cassette
Player, T-Tops, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Windows, Tilt
Wheel, Seat Belts, and Raised White Letter Tires. This 1979
