This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS was one of GM’s strongest street soldiers during the pinnacle of the Musclecar wars that unfolded throughout the United States through the Johnson and Nixon administrations.

The aptly named “General” Motors offered some of the meanest, strongest, and most revered machines to ever grace the streets and drag strips of America.

General Motors, with its Corvettes Camaros, and Chevelles were a hard-charging crew to be reckoned with on the boulevards of every town USA, not unlike the Marines landing on Normandy, Omaha, and Hamburger Hill!

We’ve all heard, and read about the storied accounts of furrowed brow street racing on Woodward Avenue, Van Nuys boulevard, and “Your Town Main Street”. As time moves away from the greatest era of Musclecar freedom, we never get tired of the tales.

This 1970 Chevelle SS has by all accounts been a “West-Coaster” all of its life, and you can bet that if it could talk, it would surely have some stories.

Based on the odometer at 71,361 miles, It can certainly be argued that these are original as the interior soft components appear as such.

One repaint years ago in the original Cranberry Red, the paint looks wet, and clean. The original cowl induction hood works great to allow fresh air into the big block by the vacuum operated door during spirited acceleration.

All of the trim and brightwork is excellent, all of tinted glass is excellent, and the original deep black bucket seat interior show very little if any wear,

396/350 horsepower, 4 speed, and 12 bolt differential is hard to beat in terms of performance, strength, and reliability.

Most of the factory options I have listed here, but there are a few others, as well as some excellent upgrades added post factory that bring this 1970 Chevelle into the capabilities and comforts we have come to expect today. Nothing wrong with that!

Keep in mind that this Chevelle carries with it, it’s original build sheet and Protect-O-Plate, so there’s no denying the options this very special Chevelle left the factory with.

If you’ve been craving a fine Chevelle that has survived all of the elements thrown at it over the last 50+ years, and still looks, runs, and drives as it did all those years ago cruising the boulevards, the burger joints, and the Drive-ins, This Chevelle SS is how you should remember 1970!
