Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to present this 1940
Mercury Eight! As many hobbyist like to say - this may be the
nicest one around! The details shown in the photo gallery should
attest to the time and money invested in this labor of love. The
chain of stories passed from owner to owner says the restoration on
this 1940 Mercury Eight finished up sometime in 2012 and has seen a
little over 2,000 miles since being completed. The write up and
paperwork passed along indicated a professional rebuild on the
flathead from top to bottom including a '3/4 race camshaft,'
Mallory dual-point ignition, modern style ball-bearing water pump,
and ceramic coated headers exiting through dual exhausts. The sound
is superb! The high-quality paint job is about a decade old and one
would not believe it upon close inspection. There are no major flaws
noticed. The custom upholstery is top flight and was very
tastefully done. There is no heater or AC, but there is an AM/FM
radio with speakers under the seats. The window seals and
weatherstripping were all replaced as part of the restoration. The
frame has been galvanized and the underside of the vehicle is
incredibly clean and well-kept. There is little to no work to be
done here - simply purchase and enjoy the hobby! This 1940 Mercury
Eight is offered by the St. Louis sales staff and can be seen in
full detail on our website. Our listing all include 100+ HD photos
and a detailed video! GatewayClassicCars.com Video:
