Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is happy to be able to offer this
1982 Chevrolet C/10 short bed Diesel. With plenty of carrying space
in the back, a massive diesel engine, and torque for days, it would
appear that this is the truck for all things utility. However, this
stunning 1982 Chevrolet Custom C/10 pickup truck also sports a
lovely low-slung ride height, sitting atop Chevys chrome-ringed
Rally wheels and a newer set of Cooper Cobra tires, and plenty of
features that make it super fun to drive daily on the street or for
the beginning of a hot rod project. Under the hood is the 6.2L
Detroit diesel V/8 engine, which combines the natural power of high
displacement with the added torque of the diesel. This means that
acceleration is rapid, and you'll always have fun driving around
this incredible beast. The original 6.2 L (379 CID) diesel V/8 was
introduced in 1982 for the Chevrolet C/K and was produced until
1993. The 6.2L diesel emerged as a high-MPG alternative to the V/8
gasoline engine lineup, and achieved better mileage than the
General Motors 4.3 L V/6 gasoline engines of the 1980s, at a time
when the market was focused more on power rather than efficiency.
However, it was designed to easily install in place of the gasoline
V8, using the same mounting and attachments for transmissions as
all GM truck engines. All of that power is transferred through a
4-speed automatic transmission which means that when you put the
metal to the metal, you can always expect clean acceleration and
efficient gear changes. This all-original C/10 is sure to provide
you with tons of driving fun, and you should get your hands on this
thing before someone else does. Other features include: power
steering, power windows, power locks.
