Vehicle Description
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1971 Oldsmobile 442 W25
for your consideration. The W-25 was a package option designed for
the already popular Oldsmobile Cutlass 4-4-2. The 455 V8 fires to
life and the automatic transmission shifts smoothly in all gears.
It is finished in Matador Red and the body is straight and shows
very well. The interior has black leather bucket seats with a
center console, the light even comes on still when you open it up.
Other highlights include power brakes, power steering, AM radio,
vinyl top. This is an excellent example and is priced to sell.
According to the owner the miles are original and it is all
original sheet metal. Also according to the owner the engine and
transmission were rebuilt and the car was repainted 3 years ago
along with a new interior.
The Cutlass shared the GM A-body platform with many legendary cars
(Chevrolet Chevelle, Pontiac GTO, Buick GS). Their flowing lines,
mean stances, and ample room for plenty of power under the hood is
exactly what you think of when you think of classic muscle car fun.
The Oldsmobile 442 became its own model line in 1968 after being an
option package for the Cutlass. 1970 was the pinnacle of
performance from Oldsmobile. In order to keep up in the horsepower
arms-race, General Motors dropped the cap on engine size in 1970,
and Oldsmobile responded by making the Olds 455 V8 the standard
4-4-2 engine. Output was 365 hp (272 kW) and 500 lbft (680 Nm),
with a 370 hp (276 kW) variant available with the W30 option.
