Triumph Spitfire 1500. The Spitfire was produced from 1962-1980 in
England. Built as a British two-passenger convertible selling over
315,000 units in its long production run. This 1979 Spitfire 1500
was built from 1974-1980 with 95,829 units produced. By 1979 the
chrome bumpers were replaced with black rubber ones to conform with
stricter US safety laws. Improvements included reclining seats,
wood dashboard, electric screen washer, and an easier to operate
convertible top. This 1979 Triumph Spitfire is painted in brown
with a black vinyl convertible top. The interior is outfitted in
European tan vinyl. Under the hood is a 1500cc in-line 4cyl. engine
attached to a four-speed manual transmission.
