Gateway Classic Cars Milwaukee is excited to present this 1949
Chevrolet Thriftmaster Panel Truck. In 1947 Chevrolet introduced a
new light and medium truck series called Advance Design. The trucks
were larger, stronger and had a more polished design. Many
different models were sold including a pickup, panel truck, station
wagon (Suburban, and cab overs to name a few. Three main sizes
became available including half, three-quarter and one-ton
capacities on either a short or long wheelbase. With the
introduction of the Advance Design series, the true mid-size
workhorse truck was born. This 1949 Chevrolet Thriftmaster Panel
Truck is painted dark brown with black fenders. Classic wide
whitewall tires and Chevrolet moon wheel covers add to the period
look. The interior has been tastefully upholstered in a tan vinyl.
Including not only the seats but the door panels and cargo walls as
well. Under the hood is an I6 engine attached to a manual
three-speed transmission.
