Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is proud to present this
low-mileage 1978 Chevrolet Corvette. 1978 was a special year for
the Corvette, as it was not only the 25th anniversary of the now
legendary sports car, but it was also selected as the pace car. A
special two-tone Black and Silver paint job was laid across the
sweeping, muscular lines separated by a bold red stripe. While in
factory form, they were much more to look at than they were to
drive, this 27k mile beauty has been gone through to really step up
performance to match the looks. The L-82 has seen the addition of a
roller camshaft from Comp Cams, ceramic-coated headers into a full
stainless-steel exhaust, a set of cylinder hears from air Flow
Research, and the transmission was upgraded from the standard
3-speed automatic to a 4-speed automatic 700R4. Now with a healthy,
thumpin' V8, this Corvette is how it should have come from the
factory! Keen eyes may notice that the "Pace Car" decals are not on
the car currently. They are included with the vehicle in the
original boxes from GM! This low-mileage Corvette is set up to
drive, and will likely keep its value for a long time to come. Jump
into the drivers seat and enjoy the thumping exhaust all the way
home!
