Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is proud to present this 2005
Jaguar S-Type. The Jaguar S-Type is an executive car that debuted
at the 1998 Birmingham Motor Show. The S-type was praised at the
time for its beautiful exterior and rich interior and enthused over
the sporty handling. Jaguar then re-engineered the S-Type for 2003,
a major change that revised 70 percent of the car. The result was
improved response, a smoother ride, and enhanced comfort and
convenience. In short, the car had improved dramatically. For 2005,
Jaguar has updated the styling such as an aluminum hood with a more
pronounced vee shape, a revised grille that is slightly lower and
broader, a smoother, less bulky shaped front bumper, new taillights
and twin headlights that are now slightly recessed, revised the
interior, and retuned the suspension. And the wonderful revised
3.0-Liter V6 engine with 235 hp versus 210 hp for the 1999 to 2002
models mated to the now standard ZF six-speed automatic
transmission. The new instrument layout features four aluminum
ringed gauges featuring a tachometer, speedometer, water
temperature and fuel level. The two large center rings also house
individual message centers, enabling the time, odometer, trip and
warning information to be displayed concurrently.
