Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars Houston showroom is excited to present this
solid 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS. The Goldwood Yellow paint isn't a
color one sees frequently, and it looks great from any angle. Under
the hood lurks a potent 327 CID Chevy V8 that's enhanced with a
Holley 4BBL carb, Edelbrock aluminum intake, and finned aluminum
valve covers. A large custom aluminum radiator with twin electric
fans keeps engine temps in check and enable worry-free driving in
stop and go traffic. The mighty mouse also sports a set of "double
hump" heads, so you know it breathes well! A set of "ram's horn"
exhaust manifolds feeds into a dual exhaust setup. Backing the 327
is a 4-speed manual transmission (with a new clutch), and the
drivetrain was rebuilt only about 7000 miles ago, so this SS has
plenty of life left in it. This '64 Impala SS also received a
complete 4-wheel brake job recently, so she stops nicely. The
3.55:1 rear axle ratio is highway friendly, yet still provides for
brisk acceleration when you need it, and the PosiTrac differential
keeps you from smoking that inner tire when you accelerate through
a corner. Fire this puppy up and listen to the throaty burble that
emanates from the dual exhaust while you get settled into the
cockpit, which just screams nostalgia. Its black vinyl seating and
carpet are in very good condition and provide a nice contrast to
the yellow exterior. This '64 Impala SS rides on some polished
vintage style American Racing wheels: 17" up front, and 20" out
back, which are wrapped with performance radial rubber (sized
235/45ZR19 in front, 275/30ZR20 out back). Additional features and
options on this 1964 Chevrolet Impala include Air Conditioning
(cold), Aluminum Wheels, AM/FM Radio, Kill Switch, Positrac rear
end, Power Steering, Performance Radial Tires, Seat Belts, Spare
Tire and Jack, Tilt Steering Column, and Vinyl Interior.
