Eldorado Seville. The head of GM design - Harley Earl, was at his
zenith, or excess in 1958. Chrome and voluptuous curves were a
signature GM design theme under his tenure and the 1958 model range
had both in spades. This chrome laden, jet age, yacht was near the
top of the Cadillac model range for 1958. With a list price of
$7500 they were not cheap. This price was justified with unique -
to Eldorado - rear styling and roof trim as well as a tri power
carburetion and numerous standard luxury features. This 58 Eldorado
Seville is equipped with factory air conditioner, power steering
and brakes, power seats, power windows, and even automatic dimming
headlights! The car wears what appears to be the original paint and
still has the original red and white leader interior. The odometer
shows 62 thousand miles, but that's unconfirmed. All accessories
work except for the factory AC and power trunk actuator. This big
Caddy runs and drives well with the 365 V8 and 4 speed trans
pulling with authority and shifting like butter. The power steering
is finger-tip light and the car tracks true down the road. A true
50s era chariot of American Luxury and excess. Chrome and stainless
steel everywhere, with rocket fins and a wraparound windshield to
cement Cadillac's futuristic optimism. A true Classic of the jet
