It harks back to the iconic movie "Bullitt" in 1968 when Steve McQueen drove a '68 Mustang Fastback in a paradigm shifting chase scene against a '68 Charger! The scene was so well received and loved by the public that Ford decided to don a new trim level on the Mustang; slotted above a GT as the "Bullitt." The name would carry across the generations being used on occasion making these cars all the more desirable. In 2008 the Bullitt was back and offered certainly offered more horsepower but a slew of other suspension upgrades like Reverse L Independent MacPherson Strut, Stabilizer Bar, 3-Link Solid Axle and more. Larger disc brakes, specific rims, many aesthetic differences (badges, decals) and even the colors were specific, Highland Green or Black. Just over 5800 examples were made for 2008.
