Vehicle Description
1966 Chevrolet C10 CUSTOM Ok, here is the whole story... I am 70
and I have owned (10) 1960-1966 C-10 pickups. This was to be my
final dream truck with no expenses spared. This is an Idaho truck
(little rust and not beat up like most farm trucks were) and was
the in the best condition of any previous ones I started with. This
was originally a longbed and the frame was professionally shortened
to a shortbed years before I purchased it and it is the best frame
fabrication I have seen. This truck has a long list of upgrades.
All new suspension front and rear. New upper and lower control
arms. Lowered 2.5' in front and 4' in rear. Classic Low Rider, but
not in the weeds. Sway bars (new) front and rear. All new power
disc brakes on all 4 wheels (front/rear). Tank in cab was removed
and rear tank installed. Note the small rear window was replaced
with the custom big window (kit now available). Work was done by
auto body professional (looks stock factory). It has a new 3 core
aluminum radiator with a transmission cooler. This body was
straight to start with and you can see it stripped to bare metal.
The driver's side rocker was replaced, the front fenders needed the
bottoms repaired. As you can see it has a 69 Camaro style cowl
induction hood (steel) that was also professionally installed. The
body has no rust issues to repair and all of the sheetmetal is
ready for blocking and primer. The vent glass in doors were
removed. My intention was to install one piece glass electric
windows in the doors. Have original vent windows, if wanted, to
return to stock look. The engine is a 406 SBC (4 bolt
main-originally a 400 bored .030 over) 6.6 Liter. Engine was
completely rebuilt. Comes with 2:02/1:60 Aluminum heads with SS
valves w/roller rockers, Hypereutectic pistons, Comp cam, Stainless
block hugger headers. Edelbrock manifold with a Holley 750 cfm
double pumper carb. I can email 17MB video of it running. It has
all brand new CPP 500 power steering.
