Super rare car, 1959 DeSoto Fireflite convertible, one of only 186 produced ever and less than 15 known worldwide today.
You can buy a Chrysler 300 convertible almost any day if you want one but 1959 Fireflite convertible never come up for sale.
This car is a started restoration and it is for sale as is or including a full, concours frame off restoration.
The car is probably 98%-99% complete, I am not sure about hubcaps for example.
The body work/sheet metal work is 60%-70% done. The frame is stripped and ready for blasting and powder coating. This was going to be my last, full blown frame off restoration but I have since had a change of heart. I will still do the restoration if a buyer is interested, and it will be our last restoration after 36 years in the Mopar restoration business.
There’s 2 choices as far as the engine, the original 383 with a 4 bbl carburetor or a genuine 1959 Adventurer 383 engine from a 1959 Adventurer Coupe I parted out around 30 years ago, with dual carburetors. Pushbutton Torqueflite transmission.
The car was ordered new with PS, PB, PW, 6 way P-swivel seats, signal seeking radio and the super rare gas heater for creature comfort during cold winter days plus the extra long signal horn and also the Adventurer stainless trim on the deck lid!
In case a buyer want the car including a full restoration the new owner will be able to pick colors, exterior color, interior color and color of the convertible top.
Originally the car was off white with a grey interior!
