Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to present this 1949
Plymouth Convertible! Convertibles from this era are always a
treat! Painted in a very stylish shade of red with a complementary
red interior this ride is ready to roll in 1949 style! Please note
the convertible top is not fully-functional. The drivetrain is an
in-line 6 cylinder with a 3 speed manual transmission spinning the
rear wheels. Plymouth featured a synchro-mesh transmission which
means going back down to first gear requires a complete stop, or a
perfectly executed double-clutch rev-matched downshift. Times sure
have changed! For the era Plymouth was innovating some technology.
They often bragged in their advertisements how there was no need
for chokes, or starter buttons - simply turn the key and go! Their
four-wheel hydraulic drum brake system was known as 'Safe-Guard'
brakes and were quite impressive. Step into a different era, and
buy a piece of history! These are great for short cruises, parades,
golf course communities, or whatever else you have in mind! This
1949 Plymouth Convertible is offered by the St. Louis sales staff
and can be seen in full detail on our website. Our listing all
include 100+ HD photos and a detailed video! GatewayClassicCars.com
