Chevelle Fans! Gateway Classic Cars of Fort Lauderdale is excited
to present this outstanding 1970 Chevelle SS Tribute in black & red
on black. This car started life as a 6-cylinder Malibu Sport Coupe
before being transformed into the drop-dead good looking machine it
is today. Just look at this thing- done right outside as if it were
born an SS, with absolutely gorgeous paint, striping and
brightwork. Sits great too. It looks like 1970 all over again, and
many Chevelle fans prefer this one year only front end. It has a
steel SS (non-cowl induction option) hood, and it is clear many,
many hours went into massaging it to as nice as possible. A
legendary car deserves the right motor. This beast has a terrific
iron 454 big-block Chevrolet, rebuilt only 1400 miles ago. It fires
right up and has a nice lope when idling. Just what this car
deserves. 454's make tons of torque, and when combined with the THM
400 3-speed automatic, you have one sweet better than factory
combination. It goes without saying, if this were a factory LS5 or
LS6 454 SS, it would sell for a much higher price in this
condition. It is safe to say the motor in this car would be very
similar to an LS6 454 in terms of performance- the difference being
this one will run on pump gas- more streetable. You can't do that
with a stock form LS6 due to the insane compression ratio. A
12-bolt posi 3:73-1 rear end roughly translates to "Get in, shut up
and hold on" because this puppy is a pavement-frying street fighter
you can drive and show. The interior looks sweet, and the tilt
wheel, power steering and power brakes make it a breeze to drive.
It is a well executed car that you can be proud to own and drive.
Get ready for a lot of thumbs up and offers to buy it.
