Oldsmobile 442. The Oldsmobile name has been synonymous with the
American automobile almost since day one. Founded in Michigan by
Ransome Eli Olds in 1897, Olds Motor Works, later Oldsmobile. Over
the years, Oldsmobile forged its name onto the roads of America as
a dependable, styling, and well-engineered machine. By the 1960s,
engineering was Oldsmobile most notable trait. Cars like the
Starfire, Jetfire, 442 and Toronado proved to the world that
Oldsmobile built car that were not only beautiful, they also were
packed with power, performance, and elegance. Our featured 442 is
from the 1969 model year. The very stylish design still looks are
good today as it did over 50 years ago. The fastback style body,
with bulging rear quarter panels look stunning finished in Electron
Blue with the contrasting parchment white interior and white racing
stripes draped over the hood and deck lid. The car is complimented
with chrome 5-spoke 16-inch American Racing "Special Edition" rims.
Powering the mighty Oldsmobile is a 400 cubic inch V8, linked to a
4-speed T-400 automatic transmission and 12-bolt rear end. Inside
the air-conditioned cabin, you will find a modern Alpine AM/FM/CD
stereo, aftermarket Auto Meter gages, seat belts, and a center
console with wood grain trim. The 442 also is equipped with power
steering and power brakes. Hit the streets in one of Detroit's most
