Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars Indianapolis is proud to present this stunning
1940 Ford Resto mod Business Coupe! Every now and then one comes
along with that extra bit of style and panache, and this one is it!
Red ghost flames caress the familiar front fenders of this glossy
black beauty, complimented by crisp chrome with its own lipstick
red detail! Hidden in the hood brightwork is the 'secret' handle to
open the front bonnet to reveal a fresh, powerful Chevy 350 V8
guided by a tough-as-nails TH-200-4R transmission, allowing the
engines 4th gear to rotate at lower RPM than the original
three-speed, saving gas and engine wear! This slightly lowered for
cool appeal (but not slammed) machine has been updated with power
steering, power disc brakes, all new wiring harnesses, ice-cold
air-conditioning by Vintage Air, Budnick Mags, new Rack and Pinion
Steering, upgraded rear end and a sharper than sharp two-tone, Red
on White leather interior, including seats, headliner and door
panels. The dash is crisp and elegant, with its, old-style 'tac and
pin' striping, chrome and aluminum appointments, and a serious
tachometer for when you are doing more than the speed limit allows!
The steering wheel alone, is a piece of art- A spectacular Art-Deco
lacquer with reduced ribbed grips and a 'V-8' etched into the horn
button housing-try not to just sit and stare at it when you get
in-it is truly sublime! Even the electric wipers work! But that
isn't all -this has the most important feature that all serious
collectors want-this bucket is steel! Front to back, chrome bumper
to gleaming bumper, the burly front fenders, up over the hood and
down the graceful slope of the rear deck lid and door to door- ALL
CLEAN STRONG STEEL! You won't have to worry about tucking this
bad-boy away for those chilly gray months either, there is a
battery disconnect hidden under the front seat! This example is
available for viewing exclusively at the Indianapolis showroom,
housing a stunning array of muscle, exotic, classic and antique
motor cars!
