Gateway Classic Cars is excited to present this 1931 Ford Model A
Five Window Roadster. The Model A was produced from 1928-1932 with
over 4.8 million units sold. By 1930 there was over nine body
styles available. Including such models as coupes, convertibles,
sedans, town cars, station wagons, taxicabs, trucks, and limitless
commercial variations. The engine was a water cooled inline four
cylinder attached to an unsynchronized three-speed sliding gear
manual transmission. Brakes consisted of four-wheel mechanical
drums. The Model A was the first Ford to use what we think of as a
conventional clutch, brake pedal and floor gearshift. Ford also
promoted the Model A to be the first car to have a safety glass
windshield.This 1931 Ford Model A Five Window Roadster is painted
in fire engine red. The body is metal with fiberglass fenders,
running boards and hood. A classic set of alloy wheels and a chrome
foldable rear luggage rack are great additions. Of course, the
classic hot rod look would not be complete with those fat rear
tires and thinner ones on the front. The interior is finished in
white leather bucket seats with embroidered pictures of the car on
the backs of the seats. A modern gauge package, tilt wheel, cruise
control and a CB radio are added features. Under the hood is
General Motors 350 cubic inch V-8 attached to a three-speed
automatic transmission. The engine is nicely detailed with aluminum
valve covers and chromed parts throughout. This 1931 Ford Model A
Five Window Roadster also comes with front wheel disk brakes.
