Chevrolet Chevelle SS! The automotive landscape was ever changing
in the early 60s. Americas big 3 automakers (Chevy, Ford, &
Chrysler) were astounded by the success of the Rambler American and
the growing market for a smaller car. Chevrolet's Corvair and Chevy
II were losing ground, so it was clear it was time for a new car
and thus the Chevelle was born. Unveiled in 1964 the Chevelle hit
the market in a big way and would become an automotive icon and one
of Chevrolet's most successful name plates seeing 3 generations
spanning only 13 years. Here we have a '67, the last year of the
1st generation, and an SS model to boot! It is a 13817-code car on
the vin which confirms an original SS396 2-door Sport Coupe! This
beauty was built out of the Fremont, California plant. The Bolero
Red paint looks really sharp. The red vinyl interior complements
the look and is also in great order. The addition of redline tires
is always a nice option and completes the stance. Taking an even
closer look the gaps are even, nice and tight. Doors close with
ease and with a heavy thud, solid. This car clearly was built well!
Under the hood is a rebuilt 402ci V8 mated to a Turbo 400 3-speed
automatic transmission. She is sporting a 12-bolt rear end and 3:07
gear ratio. Current owner added a new radiator, power steering
pump, boxed rear lower trailing arm, rear coil spring, rear sway
bar, radio, steering wheel, and speedometer. This car runs, drives,
and shifts so smooth. Current owner acquired her from a private
owner out of Corbin, KY. If you want a more original style Chevelle
of the first generation that offers a comfortable ride, good power
and great for cruising that happens to be a real SS this car
deserves your consideration as she will surely turn heads anywhere
