Gateway Classic Cars of Indianapolis is proud to feature this 1959
Chrysler 300-E! Part of the "Letter Series" and known as the
"Lion-Hearted Letter Car", at the introduction, the 300's were
marketed as "America's Most Powerful Car". Coming from one of the
most iconic periods in automotive history, 1959 produced some of
our favorites with the mid-century modernity that is the epitome of
space age Americana! This Chrysler is enriched in history stemming
from the owner's grandfather who worked for Chrysler Corporation in
the 1950's and was part of the design team that created the front
grill shape and color as well as the work on the tail fins. The
300-E is considered one of the rarest of the Chrysler Letter
Series, as this one is believed to be one of the last known 300's
in the modern style "Turquoise Grey". With two-tone
horizontal-motif bar grille dawning a red-orange finish, it has
notable style with super rare accents added to it that pushes its
uniqueness even further in todays collector car scene. A notably
well-planned interior that gives it an elegant look with
versatility such as swivel seats and "pebble-grained" vinyl
interior. Built in mind to go toe-to-toe with the soaring market
that was Fords all new "4 seat Thunderbird", Chrysler Corporation
needed a luxury sports car that could give Ford a run for their
money. Equipped with a roaring 418 wedge-head cid V8 with twin
4-barrel carbs mated to the glorious push-button automatic
TorqueFlite transmission, with mandatory power brakes and power
steering, Chrysler made for tough competition with the '59 300-E
having been selected as "Best Looking Hardtop". Certainly,
predicated by its newly changed design theme that gave it clean
lines and a restrained application of ornamentation and aircraft
motifs. With a great deal of thanks going to the current owner's
grandfather for helping develop this elegant beauty that can now be
yours! Options include; A/C, AM Radio, Power Brakes, Power
Steering, Power Seats with Swivel Action, Seat Belts, Dash Mounted
Mirror, Vinyl Interior, Radial White Wall Tires, and more! For more
