Gateway Classic Cars is of Houston proud to present this
breathtaking 1988 Mazda RX-7 Convertible. Mazda undertook the
concept on the Wankel in 1961 for automotive applications from the
practical all the way up to racing due to its extremely high
revving capabilities associated with the design of the engine. The
first RX7 was made in 1978 and a cult following of one of the
greatest Japanese vehicles was born. Through the 1980's, the
pinnacle of Mazda's design and engineering was the RX-7. A
lightweight sports car that was known for its dynamic handling and
high revving rotary engine. This 1988 Mazda Rx7 is also the first
year a convertible was available to the US market. This convertible
featured headrest mounted speakers and heated rear window glass and
introduced the first integral wind blocker which folded up behind
the seats to block unwanted drafts. Finished in black, this car is
sleek and modern. The interior is upholstered in black leather and
the nifty 80's controls are ergonomically placed in such a way that
you feel like a real pro driver! Under the hood is a 13B 1.3L
rotary engine which revs up like nothing else! Paired with a
5-speed manual transmission, imagine how this lightweight car can
get up and go! If you're looking for a sharp looking example of a
Japanese classic, this is the one you want to own! Options include
Air Conditioning (Not blowing cold), AM/FM radio, spare tire, power
top, cruise control, power mirrors, seat belts, leather interior
and alloy wheels wrapped in radial tires.
