Chevrolet C10 step side pickup. The first- generation C/K series
was the first General Motors pickup to be built on a body on frame
platform. Using a drop-center frame design that was stronger than
its predecessor which allowed for the cabin to be mounted seven
inches lower. A redesign that created a lower center of gravity and
improved stability. Coil springs were added to the front end in
1963 to save space and improve overall durability. The first-
generation C/K has become known as the General Motors first pickup
to take on all the challenges an owner could throw at it.
Reliability and durability had now become common place in the
pickup truck market. This 1963 Chevrolet C-10 step side has been
completely modernized without taking away from the truck's original
good looks. The exterior is painted in fire engine red. Accented
with good looking set of American Racing alloy wheels mounted on
raised white letter tires. Finishing touches include a black vinyl
tonneau cover and a hood ornament off a 1956 Chevy. The interior
sports updated 40/60 split velour seating w/ armrest. A modern VDO
gauge package, tilt steering wheel, and an AM/FM radio are great
additions. Under the hood is a 360 Cubic inch V-8 attached to a
Turbo 350 transmission. Engine improvements include Hooker
Competition Headers, Edlebrock Endura-Shine Intake, Comp "Thumper"
Cam and Performance HEI ignition. Additions including front disk
power brakes and power steering make for an enjoyable driving
