Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this unique 1974
Volkswagen Thing. The current owner has enjoyed this car for about
24 years and is ready to allow someone else to make memories in it.
The curb appeal of this VW turns some heads with its Rhino lined
two toned exterior. Walking around this hard top convertible VW one
should notice the front mounted spare tire with smiley face cover,
chrome mirror, chrome handles, removable windows, rear touring
trunk for storage, 14" wheels with chrome hub caps wrapped in
radial tires, and dual exhaust. The interior has been upgraded with
Cadillac black vinyl seats and has also been sprayed to match the
exterior. Powering this unique cruiser is claimed to be a 1.6L
1600cc Inline 4 cylinder that is mated to a 4-speed manual
transmission. The owner claims that the VW went through a
restoration in 2000 and has been maintained since. Some of the
items replaced since the restore were a steering dampener, steering
wheel, shocks, etc. Currently the horn, wipers, and gas gauge are
not working. If you are a fan of Volkswagen or even want something
that you can remove the top and doors, this could be the car for
you. This 1974 Volkswagen Thing is listed by our Tampa Showroom and
