This 1955 Buick Special Convertible is a beautifully restored,
stock example of a luxury 50s cruiser. 1955 was a monumental year
for Buick, with the General Motors Division sitting in third place
with its sales of nearly three-quarters of a million cars. The '55
Buicks received a major facelift from the previous year's models.
The front end was updated to a new oval shaped cut out with
textured grille panel and solid chrome horizontal emblem bar across
the middle. The front quarter also were redesigned giving the cars
a more futuristic look and the iconic venti-ports shifted from an
oval shape to circles. At the tail, the rear quarters also got a
new, almost wing-like, appearance along with a new "tower"
taillight housing. This particular Buick Special comes to us from a
longtime east coast collector who owned the car for the past 30+
years. Under the hood on this '55 Buick Convertible is a 264 Cubic
Inch "Nailhead" V8 paired with a single 2 barrel carburetor that
pushed our 188 horsepower in its day. The 264 Nailhead V8 is hooked
up to a Dynaflow Automatic Transmission that just about anybody can
drive. Being that Buicks were considered luxury cars back in 1955,
they typically (like this one) came loaded with options. With power
steering, getting in and out of tight parking spaces at the local
drive-in or car show is a breeze. Power brakes makes it much easier
to bring this classic Buick Special to complete stop. In the off
chance that you get caught in the rain or you just need a little
extra shade on a sunny summer day, putting the beige vinyl power
convertible top up is as easy as flipping a switch and putting it
back down is just as easy. The chrome and brightwork around the
exterior of this '55 Special is in spectacular, ready for the local
car show, condition. Riding on wide whitewall radial tires with
full wheelcovers, this 1955 Convertible has a great look and even

beautifully refinished in its correct color scheme, Gulf Turquoise.
The interior on this '55 Buick is superb! The front and rear bench
seats have been reupholstered in beautiful red leather. The
matching door panels, steering wheel, and dash are in wonderful
shape as well. The dash is equipped with a 120 MPH speedometer, amp
gauge, oil pressure gauge, and fuel gauge, as well as a push-button
