Gateway Classic Cars Houston is pleased to offer this 1979
Volkswagen Beetle convertible. The original Volkswagen was built in
soft-top form from the late 1940s through 1979, and the last Super
Beetle Convertibles were sold in America in 1980. Volkswagen sold
10,681 Super Beetle Convertibles in 1979, and another 4,572 in
1980, although those 1980 models were considered leftover 1979s to
avoid the stricter emissions and safety regulations that affected
1980 cars. This "Sunshine Yellow" drop top Beetle is equipped with
VW's 1600cc engine & a 4 speed manual transmission. The interior
upholstery is a lighter gray, the convertible top is in good
condition and the seating areas as well as carpets appear to have
been recently redone. Newer widow trim, Centerline wheels & a good
set of rubber round out this iconic Beetle, so for more information
