Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to offer this 2004
Chevrolet SSR for Sale. Combining the option of open-air driving
with a cargo capacity you just won't find in any common car, this
2004 Chevrolet SSR is one seriously versatile vehicle - the
equivalent of an automotive Swiss army knife. Looking to take a
drive with only the blue sky above you, or help a friend move? The
SSR abides. It's also stylish and fun to drive and, with just a
little over 28,000 miles logged, has years and years of service
left to explore all the functionality you'll have at your disposal.
Decked out in a vibrant red hue that's a great match for its
distinctive styling, this SSR features aggressively curved front
fenders and prominent side sills along its sides. It's actually a
respectful homage to a number of the design cues found on the
Chevrolet Advance Series trucks that served as workhorses while
America entered its post War construction boom in the late '40s to
mid '50s. Despite 17 years having elapsed since it first hit the
road, its paint remains in very good condition, with a nice,
wet-looking shine and strong, even clearcoat. Having likely been
stored safely in a garage when not in use, there isn't much to
indicate that UV exposure has had a chance to exact its toll - the
vitality of the red paint is matched by still-clear lenses on the
headlights and taillights and you'll notice that the signature
Chevy bowtie on the tail retains the same deep gold shade it had
when the SSR was new. You can see evidence of its clean history in
its panel alignment -no protrusions or unevenness to be found
anywhere. The SSR may exhibit some obviously retro touches, but
you'll find the interior is decidedly modern in design. It's decked
out in black leather and equipped with the options you're likely
looking for, including cruise control, power locks, power windows,
power heated seats, a tilt column, and air conditioning that's
blowing as cold and strong as you could possibly want. Everything
is looking good inside, too - the high-backed buckets with their
integrated headrests are still very comfortable and have firm
bolsters that show no serious wear or pronounced creases. The dash
area also remains in nice shape, with a level dash pad up top,
gauges with very clear lenses in the cluster and brushed aluminum
trim that's yet to suffer from any peeling or serious scuffs. An
AM/FM/CD changer sits front and center in the dash, so your audio
needs are covered. That truck bed in back has a surprising amount
of room - there's quite a bit of space between the SSR's
wheelhouses to go along with its considerable bed length.
Underneath the hood sits a fuel-injected 5.3 liter Vortec engine
that puts out a full 300 horsepower. It starts right up, runs
great, and is paired with a 4-speed automatic overdrive
transmission to make for a versatile drivetrain that provides both
strong off-the-line acceleration and gas-saving, low RPMs on the
freeway. When you combine its relatively low profile and fully
independent suspension, you wind up with a ride that, in addition
to all its versatility, is also an admirably nimble performer. The
SSR is also well-equipped for safety, with driver and passenger
airbags, as well as anti-lock power disc brakes at all four
corners. This very effective blending of car and truck
sensibilities sits on Chevy Chrome aluminum rims - 19" in front and
20" in back - outfitted with Goodyear Eagle radials. Looking for a
vehicle that comes with the versatility to handle all of what life
brings your way? You have to check out this 2004 Chevrolet SSR.
