Vehicle Description
1931 Ford Model A Tudor The Tudor sedan body style was one of the
first Model A body styles. The 'mysterious new Ford' seen on the
streets of Detroit in the fall of 1927 was indeed the new Model A
Tudor Sedan. The most popular of all Model A body styles, second
only to the cabriolet with rumble seat in 1931. It has tan and
black paint that cleans up nicely, good chrome, glass, and wire
wheels. The car is straight and true and was in a collectors garage
and not driven very often recently since the Owner has passed.
EXTERIOR: A tan 'Tudor' body and front cowl are all bathed in tan
paint. This paint shows well with just some peel off around the
frame on top for the canvas panel on the roof. Brown fenders are
solid. The right front board has some a minor dent on its outer
edge above the wheel. Chrome is in good condition overall. Glass is
intact. A covered spare tire is mounted to the back of the body and
when you look at the car from the back the color box and shine of
the split bumpers is fab! Black painted 19-inch wire spoked wheels
are wrapped in wide whites weighing in at 4.75/5.00-19 rubber.
INTERIOR: The Interior is well done. On this is the Ford 'mask'
style instrument cluster showing plenty of patina and aging with a
warm finish. The headliner is just slightly lumpy, is in tan velour
and has wood ribbed separators, all above the passengers.
DRIVETRAIN: Under the hood is a 4 cylinder flathead motor. It has
been repainted at some point and looks fine. It does **NOT** run
currently since the owner passed away not quite 2 years ago. It has
a 3-speed manual transmission. By all accounts, except for bad gas
and a dead battery the car should run as it had for years of
enjoyment. UNDERCARRIAGE: Light surface patina is observed as you'd
expect from a driven/enjoyed car. Transverse leaf springs are on
all 4 corners, as are mechanical drum brakes. An older restoration
in this estate for about 2 years now. Nice colors, interesting
interior, and original engine.
