Garage Kept Motors.) When the nice man from Cadillac dropped off
the 2006 STS-V at our garage, he told us that the V emblazoned on
the car's front fenders stands for Velocity. After a week with the
Caddy's flagship sports sedan, we can see why. Cnet.com, November
2006 Motor Trend made the same point with data: In our tests, (the
CTS-V) clocked the 0-to-60-mph run in 5.3 seconds and the
quarter-mile in 13.9 seconds at 105 mph.... Offered here is a
well-maintained 2006 Cadillac CTS-V, black over black. In addition
to the absence of any accidents or damage, the Cadillac's Carfax
history documents regular, comprehensive maintenance performed by
Cadillac dealers. The car's odometer currently shows 154,494 miles,
fewer than 10,300 miles per-year on average since the car left the
Lansing, Michigan GM plant. The exterior black paint retains a
decent finish overall, but with signs of fading and generalized
light scratching as well as road rash chips on the front end. There
are no dents on the bodywork. (To best assess the quality of the
paint and trim finishes, please be sure to view the close-up
photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.) The chrome,
crosshatch front grilles are undamaged. Factory badging--including
the bespoke V emblems, Cadillac emblems front and rear, and
Supercharged front-fender badges-is all in place. Cabin glass is
clear, and lighting lenses are undamaged. Factory 19-inch,
gloss-black, 10-spoke wheels are mounted with Michelin® Pilot Sport
A/S 275/40 tires. Wheel openings allow good views of the
cross-drilled brake rotors and calipers. The car's interior shows
well with minimal signs of expected wear on the leather-trimmed
seat cushions and door trim, especially on the fabric inserts.
Black carpeting in good condition is protected by V-logo color
embroidery. The Cadillac-branded, 3-spoke multifunction steering
wheel frames an analog instrument cluster (including 160-mph
speedometer and 6,500-rpm-redline tachometer) on the black dash. An
infotainment screen, audio, and climate controls are located on the
center stack. Both the center stack and console are trimmed in
well-maintained burled woodgrain which is echoed on the
console-mounted shift lever for the automatic transmission. Under
the hood and beneath a chassis-stiffening support, the 4.4-liter
supercharged V8 commands a clean and complete engine bay. All
components are properly mounted and there is no evidence of
modifications. Viewed from below, the chassis is very clean,
complete, and free of damage. Expected surface rust is noted on
untreated metal. The car's original data and identification tags
remain mounted. Included in the sale is the full complement of
owner literature. While the more than 145 high-definition
photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available
on the GarageKeptMotors website showcase this '06 Cadillac STS-V in
detail from every angle, including from below, we expect and
encourage in-person inspections at our Grand Rapids, Michigan
showroom. Please call to arrange an appointment in advance as our
showroom is not open to the public. And feel free to get in touch
anytime by phone or email if you have questions. Cnet's bottom
line: The 2006 Cadillac STS-V is built like a tank, goes like a
train, and drinks like a fish. A comfortable, tech-laden cabin and
blistering top-end performance make this car a serious contender on
the sports sedan stage. Sounds
