Vehicle Description
This 1975 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is a terrific find. It's an
actual mileage odometer coupe that has only averaged around 1,200
miles annually. And it comes with a level of preservation you'll
love everywhere from the numbers-matching motor to the working
8-track stereo. Plus, with a good-looking body, loaded A/C
interior, and a terrific sound from the V8, you have the kind of
classic that really knows how to be a vintage cruiser of all-around
distinction.
It's always special having a Trans Am in factory Cameo White. After
all, the first T/As were finished in this color, and the glossy
presentation lets this one represent its legacy well. You even have
the decal package in blue to really give this one a classic style.
But a car like this is about more than just history. The 2nd gen
cars were bolder. The hood bird was larger, the body kit was more
aggressive, and the details were striking - including the iconic
shaker on top of the hood. This feeling is maximized by a few key
investments that happened in 2021. The new exhaust is highlighted
by the brightly polished tips peeking out from the back. And the
iconic honeycomb wheels were upgraded to a 17-inch size so that it
could be fitted with new grip/modern sport tires (the stock 15-inch
units also come with the sale.)
The interior is believed to be all original, and so it will
instantly remind you of the less use that comes from low mileage.
It has a clean and dark look in the fundamentals, including the
headliner, door panels, dash, carpeting, and upholstery. There's
also a time capsule-like feeling on a coupe where the little things
are still working - everything from the dome light to the factory
Delco AM/FM radio with separate 8-track. This is loaded with great
factory features like power windows and cold-blowing factory air
conditioning. And of course, a Trans Am is a driver's machine. So
you get high-back front bucket seats with a center console
in-between. Full instrumentation was standard on T/As, including
the handy large tach. The dials look great set in the iconic and
aggressive machine-turned instrument panel. Ahead of that, the
driver gets another hallmark piece: the special three-spoke sports
steering wheel mounted on a tilt column.
The 400 cubic-inch V8 is this car's numbers-matching motor. It
looks great in the engine bay with a bolder metallic blue radiating
out from under the iconic shaker hood display. There's also a nice
look in the fundamentals everywhere from the newer hoses to the
Optima red top battery. This V8 fires up eagerly as it inhales
deeply from the four-barrel carburetor. And the new X-pipe dual
exhaust lets this rumble with a sweet tune. The big torque
powerhouse moves the sporty coupe easily, and you even have
confident take-offs with a rear sway bar and Positraction rear end.
It's a true cruiser with a TH350 three-speed automatic, power
steering, front disc brakes, and the enhanced grip of new ZR-rated
tires at all four corners.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual packet and the
original 15" Honey Comb wheels with Uniroyal tires. This Trans Am
has been well preserved with just the right amount of investments
added in to make sure you're going to love cruising this classic.
