Vehicle Description
1978 Chevrolet Corvette
1968 was a big year Corvette. Building on their already popular
reputation the body and interior styling was completely redesigned.
While some of the mechanical components carried over from the
previous generation the C3 introduced some bold changes like
integrated T-Tops giving even the Coupes a convertible feel. This
open air flow style roof had never been seen in an American Sports
car previously and proved that Corvette wasn't going to shy away
from new innovations. The flattened nose really draws inspiration
from the "Stingray" name and its sporty appearance was popular
among automotive enthusiasts. In 1979 Corvette hit a new sales
record with 53,807 being produced. 1978 marked the 25th anniversary
for Corvette and were dubbed the Silver Anniversary edition.
Freshening up the look for the occasion these cars featured a new
fastback style rear window and wore the Anniversary emblems. This
nice '78 has been kept looking original and has been well
maintained. The body is in good shape throughout as is the Silver
paint. The car has those iconic vacuum operated headlights up front
and double taillights in rear which are all functioning properly.
The car sits on the original style Aluminum wheels with Corvette
center caps and are wrapped in Kenda Radial Klever H/P tires.
Mechanically the car is very sound and runs down the road well. It
is believed to be the original 350 ci motor and it has a very stock
look under the hood. Backing the engine is a 4 speed manual that
shifts smoothly with no problems. The brakes/suspension are the
stock set up and the power brakes and power steering make it a nice
comfortable driver. The car sounds good with dual exhaust that
exits below the rear.
The interior of the car is finished out in Red and Black
upholstery. It has all been redone and is in great condition. The
two tone combination gives it a unique look that contrasts with the
Silver exterior nicely. The factory center console houses the
emergency brake handle, power window controls, shifter, and the
AC/Heat controls. Moving into the dash you will find the original
AM/FM stereo, stock gauges, and the inset vents. Behind the bucket
seats it is all nicely carpeted and is where you will find
additional storage wells along with the battery compartment to hide
the Duralast Gold battery out of the way. These cars also came
equipped with a retractable privacy shade to keep all of your
valuables out of sight and out of the sun.
This nice Corvette is a good driving classic and being a Silver
Anniversary car makes it unique among a lot of the C3s.
This vintage Vette is being offered up at the very reasonable
$17,500.00!
