Vehicle Description
As General Motors stated, "The 1950 Pontiac was the most beautiful
thing on wheels." Prior to the complete frame-off restoration, this
was an original Georgia car. It still retains the original
dealership emblem that reads "Henry Davis Atlanta." An original
dealership sales brochure and original temporary plate from George
in 1980 are included. This car was restored to a very high-level
quality. The body is very straight, and the wide easy-access doors
make it a pleasure to get in and out. The blue paint really pops in
the sunlight. All the glass and chrome are very good. The car sits
on red wheels with chrome center caps and whitewall tires. The
interior has been completely restored. It has wide and comfortable
seats that are contoured with plenty of legroom in front or rear
and headroom to spare. The fine, quality appearance and texture of
Pontiac's smartly tailored upholstery fabrics and gleaming good
looks of its chrome trim appointments reflect the fine car touch.
The trunk compartment is nicely detailed with the factory trunk mat
and matching spare. The engine compartment has been completely
restored and is nicely detailed throughout. The original 286ci
straight-8 engine was cosmetically restored but didn't require a
rebuild with low miles. This was the optional engine upgrade with
108hp.This engine starts and runs great. As General Motors stated,
"The Pontiac's Silver Streak engines are the sweetest on the road."
The engine is coupled to the smooth-shifting 3-speed manual
transmission. The undercarriage is also nicely detailed. The
suspension system consists of coils on the front and Duflex
variable leaf springs in the rear with airplane-type shock
absorbers front and rear. The braking system is multi-sealed,
Duo-Servo hydraulic molded finings with emergency brake on rear
wheels. This car has been completely serviced and detailed, which
is fully documented with invoice.
