Vehicle Description
1942 Chevrolet 3100 Red PU DGT39NV VIN DMV/PS 40339NV Powered by a
Camaro-sourced drivetrain, mating a replacement 350 V8. Edelbrock
intake manifold, performance headers, and a steel radiator. Turbo
350 automatic. Power steering. Power disc brakes on the front,
drums on the rear. Mustang 2 front clip. It drives great. I bought
this PU in Idaho and the guy told me he had owned the pickup for
five years and describes it as an older restoration with
driver-quality exterior finishes. Finished in red. Reupholstered
two-tone gray vinyl interior. The AK-Series light-duty Chevrolet
pickups went on sale in 1941 on the General Motors A-platform which
was shared with the Deluxe passenger car. Small crack on the right
rear fender and other cosmetic blemishes consistent with age.
Color-matched steel wheels are capped by chrome-finished Chevrolet
hubcaps and bright trim rings and wrapped in new 245/60 BFGoodrich
Radial T/A tires. Front suspension architecture was sourced from a
Ford Mustang II. The interior is trimmed with a reupholstered
two-tone gray vinyl bench seat with matching lap belts, while the
door panels are finished in similar materials. The metal dash was
color-matched in red to the exterior, and the darker carpet is
described as being worn. A banjo-style steering wheel with a
Chevrolet bowtie center logo has been installed. Instrumentation is
held within a billet insert and includes aftermarket gauges with a
speedometer accompanied by adjacent readouts for fuel level, oil
pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature. A five-digit mechanical
odometer clocks mileage, although true mileage on the chassis is
unknown.
