example anywhere! One of the most iconic shapes in the automotive
universe since 1963, the 911 has built a large and faithful
following and this 1983 is the right way to join the faithful
Porsche club! We have acquired this Porsche by a local friend who
relocated to California decades ago and collects/restores some of
the nicest European examples around. While visiting family back in
St. Louis during 2017 he purchased this 911 SC Targa from the
second owner. The 911 was sold new on 3/11/83 at Porsche Audi of
Broward in Pompano Beach Florida and was purchased by a individual
from St. Louis while on vacation. The car was brought back to St.
Louis and was always serviced by Plaza Porsche, Parktown Porsche,
Autobahn, Reid Van and GLB. The original owner sold the car to a
local couple in October of 1990 with 67,000 miles indicated on the
odometer. The couple kept the 911 serviced mostly by Reid Van
during their 27 years of ownership and the receipts are included.
In 2017 the third owner purchased the 911 and drove it back home to
Los Angeles California. This particular 911 was chosen and
purchased because he wanted a well cared for, original and
unmolested SC 911 as a candidate for a full professional no expense
spared restoration! The Porsche was completely dissembled including
all glass for a high quality respray. All new rubber, seals and
felts were installed, the engine and transmission received engine
out service and pretty much every single oil line and fittings
where replaced. Even the targa top was restored and replaced with
upgraded materials that will not suffer from the usual ?wavy targa?
problems. Dressed in correct Guards Red (code L027), the car?s
paint and trim are in overall excellent order. The rear window has
a defroster grid and is tinted. Up front, there are Hella
headlights with rectangular fog lights below the front bumper. This
example was made in December 1982 at Porsche?s Stuttgart assembly
plant. The car?s bodywork is straight and solid, including the
body-color wraparound bumpers and their black bellows. The whole
exterior really stands tall to every little detail! This 911 rolls
on Toyo Proxes tires, size 205/55R16 in front and 225/55R16 in
back. Each one is wrapped around a black Fuchs forged alloy wheel
with a silver trim ring. The wheels are in excellent shape while
the tires are in very good order with good tread. In back is the
original 3.0L flat, horizontally opposed, overhead cam, air-cooled
aluminum six-cylinder engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection
(Code: 930/16 #64D2449). Backing that motor is the original
five-speed 915 manual transmission (#74D1640). Driver convenience
features include power windows, air conditioning and rear
defroster. Inside, the black cloth front and rear seats with a
striking red and blue Tartan are very eye-catching and in excellent
new shape. The black carpet adds a good contrast and is in very
good order and the Tartan seats really come together when the Targa
top is removed! A three-spoke Nardi steering wheel faces the driver
and is ready for action. The wide, black instrument panel features
a full suite of VDO gauges and is in excellent shape, as are the
inner door panels. The floor-mounted shifter looks great and there
is an Alpine AM/FM stereo with CD player to complete the interior.
Included with original owners manual, original maintenance book
with stamps and service receipts. In 1978, Porsche introduced the
new version of the 911, called the ?911SC.? Porsche reintroduced
the SC designation for the first time since the 356SC (as
distinguished from the race engined 356 Carrera). There was no
Carrera version of the 911SC. The ?SC? stands for Super Carrera. It
featured a 3.0L aluminum engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel
injection and a five-speed 915 transmission. 911 SC sales totaled
58,914 cars. This is a very pretty Porsche 911 with a stunning
interior that cannot be missed. They don?t come much more beautiful
than this red rocket and has to be the nicest example of a SC Targa
on the market today! VIN: WP0EA0919DS161178 This car is currently
located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on
the odometer shows 112,317 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a
clean and clear, mileage exempt California title. GET OUT AND
