Vehicle Description
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1978 Toyota Land Cruiser
FJ40, a well-optioned truck with power steering, power brakes
(front disk) and air conditioning (and like all late FJ40s, it has
the 2F engine and four-speed manual transmission). This truck is
finished in an attractive off-white a bit lighter than the
ubiquitous Dune Beige, but not a bright white. Paint and body show
to a good driver standard with minor wear typical of an older
repaint and some rust in the door bottoms, but none that we can
find in the tub, floors or cab corners. Meaty Toyo 35x12.50
all-terrain tires on alloy wheels.
The interior shows well with seats, door panels, dash, steering
wheel and headliner all in good condition. A roll bar and
three-point front seat belts are a nice safety measure. Tuffy
locking center console with modern stereo and cupholders. All
gauges and lights are working properly.
Under the hood is a Toyota 2F 4.2 liter inline six mated to a
four-speed manual gearbox. The truck also has power disc brakes,
power steering and A/C. It starts, runs and drives well - engine
feels strong, gearbox feels good, steering and brakes feel just as
they should. Service within the last four years has included a new
alternator and voltage regulator, new intake and exhaust manifold
gaskets, new power steering hoses, new HEI distributor with
electronic ignition, new clutch slave cylinder, and more.
