Gateway Classic Cars Houston is excited to offer this gorgeous 1960
Austin Healey 3000 Mark I BN7. This car is the third Healey 3000
that its current owner has had, and he gave it the royal treatment
during the restoration. Having previously owned 2 of the tri-carb
two seaters, he enjoyed them so much that he had this one converted
to a tri-carb setup during the restoration. In his words, "since I
am not a mechanic, all of the work was professionally done", and
indeed, there is a lot that has been done to get this car into the
condition it's in now. Having purchased it in 2012, he had the
restoration commissioned in 2013, and it was completed in 2019. If
it could be rebuilt, it was. If it couldn't be rebuilt, it was
replaced. The car has a new Jule frame, which provides better
rigidity than the original Healey frame, thus helping ensure this
Healey has a long future ahead of it. All panels have been
completely redone and repainted; chrome surfaces are freshly done,
the engine, transmission (including overdrive), and differential
have been rebuilt. The top is new, along with a new tonneau cover,
new stainless-spoked wire wheels, side curtains, bumpers, tires,
brakes, clutch, and shocks. There is also a new stainless exhaust
system. This 1960 Healey 3000 looks almost as good as it did when
it rolled off the line at Abington in June 1959; but it drives
better than new, thanks to the triple carb upgrade and drivetrain
freshening. The paint looks great, interior is just right and
fresh, chrome sparkles, and it drives great! The car comes with a
thick binder of restoration information, documentation, and Healey
information, and quite a few receipts. It was restored lovingly by
a true Healey aficionado, not someone who found it in a barn and is
looking to flip it for a quick buck. This is a fine example of a
great vintage British sportscar, having been researched by British
Motor Industry Heritage Trust for its previous owner: the BMIHT
certificate is dated 14 October 1992. This car has only been driven
about 400 miles since the restoration was completed in 2019, so
it's barely been broken in! You'll also find an original jack,
grease gun, and Austin Healey wrenches in the trunk. The new side
screens are there as well, and have never been installed on the
car. For more information on this 1960 Austin Healey 3000 Mark I,
