1938 Dodge Sedan Custom
This cool classic Dodge is quite the unique Street Rod. You don't
see many of these Dodges still on the road especially redone in a
street rod style. The current owner purchased the car out of
Paducah, KY in 2016 and has since made a bunch of additions to get
it in solid road worth condition. The body is in great shape and
painted in a very nice White and Fuchsia two tone paint. The body
has been mostly de-chromed with the bumpers and trim pieces being
painted to match the body. The rear doors are factory suicide doors
and have been shaved to give the car more of a 2 door appearance at
first glance. All of the glass is in good condition with a nice
tint. The car doesn't get driven in the rain but does have a
working chrome wiper in case you get caught in some out at a show.
It has aftermarket side mirrors on each door for extra visibility.
The car has a nice stance and rides on 15 inch Centerline wheels in
back and 14 inch matching ones up front. They are wrapped with 4
fresh tires that were installed 2,761 miles ago.
The hood opens from either side towards the center and reveals the
350 V8 motor that gets this car rolling. These are very reliable
motors and getting parts for them is no problem. When the current
owner purchased the car he had the radiator flushed, a new freeze
plug installed, new motor mounts, new flywheel cover, new 94 amp
alternator, new fan blade, new Duracell maintenance free battery,
new front disc brake rotors/pads, and a new dual master cylinder.
It also receives regular oil changes, grease jobs, and air/gas
filters as needed. As you can see the car is very well maintained
and needs nothing but a new home. The battery on the car is hidden
beneath the driver's seat and the master cylinder located under the
drivers floor. This nicely cleans up the engine compartment which
features painted White firewall. It is kept running cool thanks to
the mechanical and electric fans. The transmission is a Turbo 350
automatic and sends power back to the Chevelle rear end. The stock
front suspension has been swapped out for a Mustang II set up.
The interior is finished out in a nice Burgundy cloth with dual
reclining bucket seats up front and a bench in rear. The bucket
seats have 3 point belts with the back having a single lap belt.
The door panels and headliner have custom inserts which look great.
It has a custom built center console which houses the B&M
shifter. The dash is nicely painted and topped with white face
gauges, an AM/FM/CD player, AC controls and adjustable AC vents.
Under the dash is a CB radio system with the antenna mounted on the
left rear bumper mount. The trunk is nicely upholstered as well and
offers storage space for all your car show gear.
This is a really neat classic Street Rod that really stands out
amongst all the standard Fords and Chevys at shows. Being a Dodge
makes it very unique and there are many shows you will attend where
you are the only Dodge of this vintage around.
