Up next from the Eastern Collection is the 1965 Shelby Cobra
CSX4991. Powered by the legendary 427 CI engine and backed by
5-Speed Manual Transmission, this Cobra is an absolute blast! The
Cobra is documented in the Shelby Registry. Being sold from the
original owner and only traveling 287 miles from new, this is the
1965 Shelby to own.
The Shelby Cobra is one of the most iconic sports cars in the
history of sports motorsport. Very linked to racing and with
successes all over the world, the Cobra is a living legend in the
environment of sports cars.
To commemorate the Cobra, Shelby presented in the late 1990s a
limited series called the Shelby Cobra CSX 4000 Series. This car is
manufactured with the same conception as the original 1965 model
but with technical improvements that make it more current and
reliable. While the engine remains a small V8 block of almost 7
liters of displacement, some differences lie in the use of new
materials and safer elements.
Shelby Automobiles, Inc. provided buyers with certificates of
authenticity and product number. The certificate has the original
signature of the famous creator of the car, Carroll Shelby.
This Shelby Cobra CSX 4000 Limited Series features a reinforced
steel chassis and better alloys than the original 1965. The
indicators on the board resemble a real racing car.
Important aspects were also improved such as engine cooling with
water and oil radiators plus heat dissipation with insulation for
the passenger compartment. Racing seat belts were added in the same
way. This makes the Cobra not only superior in performance, but
also a safer car for users.

Shelby CSX 4991 is like new and has only traveled 287 miles. Being
a one owner example, this is as new as you will find one. This
Cobra is a well optioned example. The continuation Cobras have very
low production numbers and prices of these car will only rise in
the future. A total of 650 CSX4000 series Shelby Cobras were
produced. This is a very low number, indicating that this one owner
example is one of few that remain with such low miles.
