Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is happy to offer this funky
1962 Mercury Comet Station Wagon marketed on consignment with our
Arizona showroom, located in North Phoenix. Back in the early
1960's the Interstate Highway System had just been completed and
Americans were more eager than ever to pack the whole family into
the car and hit the open road. This Mercury Station Wagon and many
others like it helped families turn those dreams into reality by
providing practical and affordable transportation. This vehicle has
been restored over time to its current state as something that's
good to drive or show in its "Hunter Green" exterior paintjob with
faux wood panels. Tinted windows keep everyone comfortable on hot
summer days and your belongings protected from peeking Toms-
there's even the signature roll down rear window. Custom 17" Maxxim
alloy wheels give this sensible station wagon some youthful
character. Under the hood is a gas saving 200 CID Inline 6 cylinder
engine that does give enough power to get this car down the road
with purpose and the 3-speed automatic transmission was rebuilt
around 1,100 miles ago according to the seller of this '62 Comet.
You'll like the sound of this wagon thanks to exhaust headers
feeding dual exiting pipes that help this trusty 6-cylinder run
with the big V8s. Inside the 2-doors (which is more desirable than
the 4-door wagons) you'll be greeted by Tan vinyl interior with
bucket seating, a center console and Grant steering wheel as well
as a custom B&M shifter for the transmission. The factory look
is somewhat maintained by the gauge cluster but there are some
aftermarket dials for water temperature, oil pressure and voltage.
A retro-modern stereo has been added so you can enjoy your favorite
tunes (or block out the noise of your passengers on that long
weekend road trip!). This 1962 Mercury Comet Station Wagon has all
kinds of character and we are excited to find the next owner of
this rare ride! Stand out from the crowd and call our helpful and
knowledgeable Sales staff today at (623) 900-4884 for more
information on this sweet Mercury Comet or any of our other
inventory for sale. Alternatively, we can be reached by email on
