Vehicle Description
This fully customized 1968 Camaro was aptly nicknamed "Impulse" for
a good reason. Fabricated by Bonell's Rod Shop in Fairview, PA,
into a one-of-a-kind build with radical changes. The Bonell's crew
created this race-inspired Camaro, leaving no panel untouched. This
car has been featured at SEMA by PPG paints, captured a first place
at World of Wheels 2016 in Pittsburgh. It is in its rare form
painted with PPG Envirobase Impulse Yellow with a black center
stripe and covered with the new PPG Vibrance Clear for the ultimate
shine. The body has been shortened 7 inches and the roof chopped 4
inches, with the rear wheel well openings raised. The front end was
custom-fabricated without a front bumper and molded in chin
spoiler. The massive cowl-induction hood bulge sweeps from the
leading edge of the car to the windshield, high enough to barely
clear the 8-fuel injection velocity stacks with an opening to let
the beast breath fresh air. The grille is custom-fabricated
aluminum and has 175 LED lights built in, along with the fitment of
Rigid Industries off-road light bars for headlamps, creating a wall
of vertical LED lighting. The hood and cowl have been
custom-fabricated to allow for the engine fitment and presentation
of a clean engine bay. The rear of the car is equipped with
Digi-Tails LED taillamps fitted into a modified rear panel. The
interior has been radically customized and fitted by Sew It Seams
Auto Upholstery using color-matched premium leather from Relicate
Leather. Custom center console with machined billet aluminum
fixtures and the automatic transmission shifter, custom dash with
Classic Instruments Auto Cross series gauges, and custom-machined
leather-wrapped steering wheel to match the wheels on the car.
Powering this custom is a 360ci V8 engine with 8-velocity stack
induction multi-point fuel injection system controlled by a Holley
fuel management system for proper fuel and air delivery and a
radical look. Power flows through a 3-speed automatic transmission
built to handle the extra power, with the exhaust gasses flowing
through a custom system with side body exits. Under the bright and
beautiful body lives a Martz full-tube chassis, including a Fab9
9-inch rear end assembly with 4-link rear suspension sending power
to the massive rear tires. The wheels are 20-inch custom offset
htree-piece forged Forgeline Grip Equipped Grudge wheels wrapped in
Mickey Thompson tires. Also installed behind the custom wheels
reside Wilwood 13-inch brake rotors and calipers to control the
beast. This custom is ready to show and go with the crowd-pulling
looks and aggressive stance.
