For Sale: 1964 Chevrolet Corvette in Macedonia, Ohio

Vehicle Description

Nicely done older restoration with NOM 350 cubic inch V8 and matching-numbers 4-speed. Long-term ownership with a Corvette expert. Added side pipes and Rally wheels. Beautiful paint and bodywork, nice interior, fully sorted and drives superbly! An affordable Sting Ray ready to enjoy. If you like the look of the Mid-Year Corvettes but always thought they were out of reach, perhaps this gorgeous triple black convertible will change your mind. It's the kind of car that's easy to own, easy to drive, and easy to love because it does all the things a Corvette is supposed to do. Drop-dead good looks, entertaining performance, and a soundtrack worthy of Olympus. The trim tag says this one was originally Ermine White (code 936) but somewhere along the line it got a high-quality respray in high-gloss black and it looks all the better for it. Although it's probably nearing voting age, the paint is holding up beautifully, with a deep shine and very few signs of fiberglass distress underneath-no stress cracks around the headlights, doors that fit properly, a hood that sits flush, and a ripple-free shine that shows extra time was invested to do it right. Just look at how well that sharp crease running around the perimeter lines up from panel to panel. We would guess that the bumpers and most of the emblems are original and still in very good condition and all the lenses have been replaced with quality reproductions. The price doesn't mean you get a Corvette you can't show with pride. The standard black bucket seat interior is how this one came from the factory, and it was freshened when the car was restored. That means replacement seat covers that look great, correct carpets with floor mats, and nicely detailed door panels with all the ornate brightwork that made these cars special. Gauges are original and fully functional except the temperature gauge, which has been supplanted by an aftermarket dial hanging under the dash. There's a newer AM/FM/cassette stereo in the center of the dash and the chrome shifter for the 4-speed manual is still the best way to enjoy a vintage Corvette. There's a bit of storage behind the seats, but if you're doing it right, it's also where the new black convertible top will stow itself. Don't worry, it's easy to raise and lower and seals up surprisingly well. We also have an unrestored hardtop for this car available at extra cost, please inquire if you're interested. The engine is a later 350 cubic inch Chevrolet V8 dressed to look like the original 327, and if you're not checking numbers, nobody will be able to tell the difference. With a correct air cleaner and decal, finned valve covers, and Chevy Orange paint on the block itself, it looks correct under the hood and runs beautifully. The Carter 4-barrel carburetor is expertly tuned so it starts quickly, idles nicely, and pulls hard without any hiccups. It always stays nice and cool in traffic and those side pipes obviously sound spectacular. Of note, this car is equipped with both power steering and power brakes, making it very easy to drive, and the list of new components is rather long, including tune-up parts, belts and hoses, and more. It's ready to go. The transmission is the original, numbers-matching Muncie 4-speed manual feeding the original CB-coded rear end, which means 3.36 gears on a Posi limited slip. The important areas such as the 'bird cage' and the kick-up ahead of the rear wheels are in excellent shape with no structural issues. The side pipes were added during the restoration, but we know nobody's complaining about those, and it sits on 205/75/15 Firestone whitewall radials with just a few thousand miles on them. Rally wheels are an excellent choice, and this car includes a set of original hubcaps that actually fit the Rally wheels, so you can change the look on a whim.As mentioned earlier, there is also a removable hardtop available at extra cost.If driving is what matters to you, a vintage Corvette is always a great choice. With a great look, strong mechanicals, and a no-worries attitude, this Sting Ray delivers the experience you've always hoped it would. No need to be concerned about investments and matching numbers, this car is also a refreshing change of pace in the Corvette world-a Mid-Year that you can drive without worry.
