From the estate of a prominent local collector. This is a genuine
steel body 1938 Ford sedan delivery. It is rare and desirable. It's
petite for a truck which keeps it attractive and it fits in the
garage the same as a car. Have it lettered to promote your business
or personalize it and have some fun.
EXTERIOR: All metal body, front fenders and hood. The body is
actually in excellent shape. It's straight all over, I don't see
any rust or damage. It was painted over 20 years ago and is holding
up really, that is a testament to how good it really is. It an all
metal roof, no vinyl insert. The paint is very smooth and glossy.
Even after a closer inspection I was impressed with just how nice
the painted really is. It has some metallic ghost flames painted on
the hood and fenders. I like that it still has it's original style
trim keeping it nostalgic. Original style glass headlights,
original taillights and it even has a Ford locking gas cap. In back
it has a bumper unique to the sedan delivery. The wiper is
converted to electric, the wiper arm is included. All of the chrome
and stainless trim was replaced or restored. The running boards are
recovered like original. The chrome wire wheels still sparkle like
new.
INTERIOR: In front it has two very comfortable bucket seats
upholstered in vinyl with cloth inserts. It has seat belts. The
entire inside is upholstered and has embossed designs- door panels,
kick panels, headliner, the walls in back. Overhead is a finished
wood panel with a stereo, CB radio and some controls. The dash has
a highly polished wood instrument panel with Classic Instrument
including a tachometer. It also has a would rimmed Lacara steering
wheel. It has a Lokar shifter on the floor. It is air conditioned
with a/c vents in back. Under the carpet in back the floor is
refinished wood.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has a GM crate 350 HO motor. The tag with
the part number is on the block. It makes a reliable 330 hp, it has
4 bolt mains, Vortec heads, flat tappet hydraulic cam. On top is an
Edelbrock aluminum intake and carb. The alternator looks new. It
has a modern heat and air conditioning system. The engine bay is
painted smooth and glossy like the outside. The battery fits right
in the firewall and is bolted down properly and has a disconnect
switch. The old vintage horns are working. The radiator looks new
with an electric fan in front. Everything looks neat and tidy.
UNDERSIDE: It has an original frame that is solid. Up front it has
a tubular drop axle, tubular trailing arms and adjustable coilover
shocks. In back the leaf springs and shocks were replaced. It has a
dual exhaust system that weaves it's way through the frame and all
the way out the back. It has disc brakes in front, drum in back.
The e-brake assembly is hooked up. Looking up at the motor it is
clean, starter looks new, it has a flywheel cover. The Turbo 350
automatic looks fresh. It is a Ford 9 inch rear end with a 3.00
ratio.
I will say this is a quality vehicle. The closer I looked the more
impressed I became. The fit and finishes throughout are very good.
It's comfortable, makes a great driver and has potential business
opportunities. Put your business name on it and it's a tax write
off.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
