For Sale: 1965 Ford F100 in Ft Worth, Texas

Vehicle Description

Glancing through our inventory, you'll find one very obvious fact: pickup trucks are the fastest growing segment of the old car hobby. Trucks like this 1965 Ford F-100 represent tremendous value and typically offer big horsepower and great vintage looks, all for a fraction of the price of their passenger car counterparts.

This Ford's unique look is one part blue collar worker and one part first-class transportation, and it makes for the ideal foundation for the red and white combination. The bodywork seems to invite the two-color paint job, with a natural break point below the hood, and a contrasting cab roof has been a pickup tradition for years. It's definitely a driver-quality finish that's got a few signs of use and imperfections here and there, but that's okay but this truck still wants to work. Like your Grandfather, it will never completely hang up the work gloves - not when the hardware is still so strong and capable. All the original stainless and chrome trim was left on the body (a rather rare feat to see these days), and the truck's overall clean body lines support it, with shiny subtlety is something that we always appreciate around here. The doors fit well and the iconic front grille and chrome bumpers fore and aft give it a classic look that's a big part of old trucks' appeal. Original emblems were retained, there's a light tint to the glass, and the bed has handy tie-down rails and is finished with red-tinted spray-in bedliner, so it remains eminently functional as a truck.

The interior sticks to tradition, offering a full-width bench seat covered in attractive red-and-white vinyl that looks period-correct and matches the exterior's theme. Basic door panels with body-colored inserts add an upscale look and the original instruments are long gone, replaced with a billet bezel filled with an array of Omega Kustoms gauges that keep a more accurate eye on the 390 V8 under the hood. A sharp eye will note the aftermarket chrome tilt column that features a shiny shifter for the automatic transmission below, and it's joined on the column with a thick-rimmed wood steering wheel that works with the power steering system to totally transforms the truck's road manners along while giving the cabin sophisticated feel inside. Other options include seatbelts, an upgraded HVAC system (the A/C could use a charge to blow a little colder), and a Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo that handles the tunes. Durable red carpets and an original headliner feel upscale, but all the materials are tough enough to remind us that despite all these creature comforts, this is still a truck that's ready, willing, and able to work.

Trucks are gaining popularity because they often include big block power, and that's certainly the case with this Ford. A 390 cubic inch V8 fits neatly under the hood and has been upgraded with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and matching intake manifold, along with matching Ford valve covers and an open-element air cleaner. Power steering and brakes are welcome in anything that weighs this much and with discs up front, it offers better-than-average stopping power to match its performance. The C6 automatic transmission features a gear-vendor overdrive and channels the power aft to what's likely the original 9-inch rear end, and it breathes and barks through long-tube headers that match up with the great-sounding dual exhaust system underneath. The rolling stock is highlighted by a set of shiny Eagle alloy wheels wrapped in 255/70/15 front and 255/75/15 rear Cooper Cobra whitewall radials.

Nicely preserved and restored as-needed, this is a fun, affordable truck with the moves of a muscle car. Call today!
