Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is excited to offer for sale
this fine 1957 Cadillac Series 62. Painted in a classy white over
green color scheme, this car shows very well. The white top has
pearl in the paint, and really pops in the sun. A muted ghost flame
treatment on the hood and front fenders adds to the package.
Inside, the two-tone color scheme continues, with white vinyl trim
on the green cloth bench seating. This classic 1957 Series 62
Cadillac is riding on a set of Coker Wide White Sidewall Radial
tires (P275/75R15) that look like they have plenty of life left in
them. Lots of gorgeous chrome adds to the look - that giant front
bumper lets people know you're driving the king of the road!
According to a history page that came with this car when it arrived
to us: "This 1957 Cadillac Series 62 4 door hardtop was first sold
by the Cadillac Dealer in Auburn New York. It is rumored that it
was a gift from Elvis to the first owner. The car was used
sparingly through the late 50's and 60's accumulating just over
42,000 miles. It was then stored in a garage for about 30 years
before the second owner acquired it. With this acquisition a
thorough restoration was completed. The entire mechanics of the car
were rebuilt. Every part was repainted in the original colors, but
the paint was in much better quality and workmanship than the
original, and certainly Cadillac never painted a car with "Ghost"
Flames at the factory. The interior showed little wear and it was
cleaned up. Only the carpet, dash pad and package shelf pad were
replaced. The rest is installed by Cadillac in 1957. When the
restoration was completed, the odometer read 42,800 miles. When the
third owner acquired the car, its mileage was about 44,000. In
early 2007 it the odometer turned 50,000, which is just 1,000 miles
for each year of its life." Note: Gateway Classic Cars are unable
to verify that these are actual miles, because there is no
historical record of mileage available. Further information from
the history page supplied with the car: "Highway milage is about
16.5 per gallon of high test, although speeds over 65 will decrease
this some. It has the standard 300 horsepower 365 cubic inch
Cadillac V8 (which has been) completely rebuilt. Although not
equipped with air conditioning (deemed not necessary in upper New
York State), it did have power windows, (power) steering, (power)
brakes and seat (belts). It also had the "Autronic Eye" which
automatically dimmed the headlights when an oncoming car was
detected (that's the little device on the dash to the left of the
steering wheel). This car was at the TDOT 50th anniversary
celebration of the creation of our Interstate Highway System at the
Bi-Centennial Mall in June 2006, and later in the Fall at the
Celebration of Tennessee History at the same Mall. It is said to
have also been one of the two cars that appeared on the Williamson
County TV Channel to publicize the 2006 Kris Kringle Car Show and
Arts and Crafts Fair." Don't miss your chance to get a real piece
of history! Additional features and options on this 1957 Cadillac
Series 62 include AM/FM/Cassette head unit, CD shuttle changer,
Cloth/Vinyl Interior, Power Steering, Power Windows, Spare Tire and
Jack, Seat Belts, and Wide White Sidewall Radial Tires. For more
