Vehicle Description
1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Coupe
The storied Chevelle is one of those timeless designs that looks
good no matter how it's built. Stock, modified, race, pro-touring,
whatever; the clean lines and balanced stance on these tough
classics create a confident swagger that's universally admired.
That means if you're looking to ride in style, you really can't go
wrong with a Chevrolet A-Body. And when you factor in this ride's
big block drivetrain, tastefully restored interior and first rate,
all-American sheet metal, you get the picturesque profile of an
incredible muscle car!
Looking like it is fresh out of the restoration shop, this 1967
Chevelle SS has had an engine swap for the better, now upgraded to
a whopping 556ci V8 with a supercharger, and Dyno proven 952.84hp!!
Deep dish rally wheels, raised white letter tires, near perfect
bucket seat interior, definitely one of the highlight cars to take
in and consider for the serious Chevelle SS fanatic, right here in
the hallowed former mall halls of Classic Auto Mall. Read on for
AWESOME features...
Exterior
This sweet SS wears clean sheet metal which is under presentable
purple paint retaining its luster and then some. Also keeping its
original front grille and bumpers which are very well kept and
shiny with no rust or dimpling. Overall simplicity and certainly
very conservatively adorned with a mere rocker trim in stainless
and some snappy chromed window surrounds. This car otherwise looks
like the true conservative. Not overdone, gaps are nearly perfect
for the steel and the rear wrap around gridded taillights with the
black roll panel badged with SS is just sugar on the purple
lollipop. A large rear facing hood scoop in on and a nice black
vinyl top is covering the small flying buttress B pillared roof.
Deep dish rally wheels are on all 4 corners and are wrapped in
215/70R15's in front, and 295/55R15's tires in back.
Interior
With a swing of the doors and you are getting a coming attraction
preview of what wonders never cease to amaze you inside. The door
panels are black vinyl, and have horizontal stitched tucked roll
panels, some chrome trimmings and are near perfection. Inside high
back buckets with more tuck and roll inserts and smooth larger
supporting bolsters. These seats are newer and very comfy. The rear
bench is similar pattern only in long form with horizontal tuck and
roll, and all pristine. All this floats in beautiful black
carpeting. In the center of the hump is a pistol grip shifter. Dash
is in its original layout with the upper shiny strip which houses
the lights, ignition, wipers, etc being on top of the new Dakota
digital backlit LED gauge cluster. A smaller rally steering wheel
fronts this new glowing dash and shows nearly no wear what-so-ever.
On top is a tight black headliner. A shout out to the trunk which
has been completely relined with a like new vinyl covering and
fresh coating of paint.
Drivetrain
556 cubes now take up the majority of the engine bay space, and
this is a GM crate engine with a CVF serpentine system and a
ProCharger D1-X supercharger to pump loads of fossils and air.
Brodix heads are now on top of the block and a Merlin intake
supports a Holley Terminator X EFI. On black is a Tremec 3650
5-speed manual by G Force transmissions which throws power rearward
to a 12-bolt narrowed rear axle with a Moser Waveloc posi unit
attached. For the big exhale, are headers and a Magnaflow
exhaust.
Undercarriage
Nearly showroom, with no rust, or even road dirt. All straight
structural steel, floor pans, and rockers, it is simply beautiful
work underneath. Features such as RideTech coil-overs and tubular
front and rear control arms, and Wilwood Hydroboost power disc
brakes on all 4 corners help assist functionality with the awesome
power under ether hood. All is looking buttoned up underneath.
Drive-Ability
A hop inside the pristine interior, and it's off I go to the test
track. Here it handled and accelerated and took over the test track
like it was a piece of cake. Smooth bias free panic stopping, and
all functions were working. A good time was had by me with this car
which is also an awesome cruiser, and head turner with "no foolin'"
power.
Looking somewhat like a mild mannered Chevelle, a listen to the
power plant, tells us very quickly this car is anything but. All
steel panels looking rust free and very straight, digital dash
keeping in its original form, new buckets for the front, and all
systems GO...like hell!
